The Maine FOI Coalition has received a $5,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation through the National Freedom of Information Coalition. The award will be made once MFOIC receives 501(c ) (3) IRS designation which was applied for in April 2002.
Established in 1950, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation makes national grants in journalism, education and the arts and culture.
